The Ebullist returns with a noble worth of crisp lock and groove braindance. Falklow Flux opens with quick slices of shifting expectations. In a mirrored awareness, nothing overstays. Cutting sample flips and melodic misdirection widely transpose around dissonant retreats - sparse but sculpted. Elegantly developed (for lack of a better term) “scenes” frame the overall acid crypt crawl of Monoslith through the Falklow trinity (Flash, Flux, and Crux) while Vica temporarily shelters the weathered listener. The bonus, Falklow F33X, returns to pace save the slightly worn (but welcome) and subdued direction balancing out the fantastically solid 45+ mins of dangerously layered acid lines, meticulous edits, and satisfying resolve. Poised direction and uncertain momentum seem to be the essential ingredient balance in this new Ebullist elixir. Not sure if the spastically encompassing aesthetics of braindance and the embodied fanaticisms of Dungeons and Dragons is a necessary or even worthwhile fusion, but this collection really touches on something that suggests that it just well might be.
