Moniker-cloaked Le Monde and Junk Runner join forces in this complementing split release. Le Monde takes up the lighter shades of the spectrum with piquing melodies and tight looping arpeggios while Junk Runner picks up the darker end with stabbing chords and evolving leads. Neither side is absent of hooks and clever programming. You just have to pick your poison. On the Le Monde side, “Prefecture” is a future trip on high-speed rails in a neo-Japan, and “Broad Icon” takes a more melancholy interpersonal gaze to round it out. On the Junk Runner side, “Going Back” is a driving mycotoxin fueled jack-in, and “Right On” is a slightly more optimistic stroll through some era-bending geodesic.
